  • The International Symposium on Cognitive Neural Mechanism of Language (ISCNML, 2018) will be held at RIZHAO, China during Dec 14-Dec 16, 2018. This symposium is hosted by the Society for Chinese Neurolinguistics and undertaken by the School of Translation Studies and College of Chinese Language and Literature, Qufu Normal University. This symposium is the first international symposium after the founding of the Society for Chinese Neurolinguistics. It is held in order to deepen the understanding of the development of international neurolinguistics, display the latest progress in Chinese neurolinguistics, strengthen the communication between neurolinguistics scholars around the world, and promote the development of Chinese neurolinguistics. The symposium will invite more than 10 famous experts in neurolinguistics to present their latest research in neurolinguistics studies. Meanwhil                                               e, a “Well-known Journal Editors’ Forum” will be held during the symposium. On the forum the editors will share their valuable experiences in how to write a grant proposal, how to write a good academic paper as well as how to avoid problems in manuscript submission. We sincerely invite both researchers and graduate students from relevant fields to submit their papers, which will be reviewed before being accepted.

    1. List of Topics

    The theme of this conference is “Cognitive Neural Mechanism of language”.

    Topics include but are not limited to:

    (1) Neurological studies on Chinese syntax, semantics and pragmatics

    (2) Studies on second language acquisition

    (3) Neurological studies on bilingual processing

    (4) Cognitive studies on translation

    (5) Comparative studies on language and music processing

    (6) Neurological studies on individuals with language disorder

    (7) Neuro-psychological studies on Chinese non-literal language processing

    2. Abstract requirements

    Abstracts can be written in English or Chinese. Abstracts in Chinese should be around 800 words and abstracts in English should be around 500 words. The title must be at the top of the abstract. Authors must include the following information: (1) name(s) of author(s); (2) affiliation(s); (3) correspondence address(es); (4) phone number; and (5) email address(es). Table(s) and figure(s) should not be included in the abstract. The total number of keywords must not exceed five.

    3. Abstract submission

    The abstract should be submitted to langcon2018@126.com before Nov.15, 2018. All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed and the authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive the official invitation before Nov. 20, 2018.

    4. Registration Fees

    The registration fees for researchers is 1000 (RMB) and Student registration fee is 500 (RMB). The symposium committee will provide free supper on Nov. 14 and 15 and lunch on 15 and 16.
